Kathy Ligon | Founder & Managing Partner

Kathy brings 30 years of experience and relationships in the education industry nationwide. Her background in accounting and educational operations has led to the development of pricing analysis and negotiation strategies that successfully match buyers and sellers. With the negotiation and closing of more than 150 educational transactions, Kathy provides an understanding of the nuances of process development and company integration that lead to long-term success after the closing. Kathy began her career in public accounting with an experience base in tax and auditing. This led her to a position as Financial Director of a growing educational organization, where she developed financial systems that led to successful operational management. After moving to COO and directing growth management, the company grew from five to 125 sites operating in several states.

Throughout this time, Kathy developed experience in growth strategy and management, target selection, pricing and negotiation, culture analysis and process development, and post-closing integration that led to success. Kathy has also started several new companies, all focused on serving the educational industry in varying arenas.

Kathy lives in Greenville, South Carolina and earned a Business degree from Lander University with an emphasis in Accounting, and has taken course work toward her MBA at Clemson University. She has taught numerous workshops and seminars on growth management and successful acquisition on both the state and national level. Kathy serves on several for-profit and non-profit Boards.

Mike Pepper | Senior Broker & National Director of Real Estate

Mike has 30 years of commercial real estate experience as an investor, developer, broker, lender, pension fund advisor and portfolio manager. He has held senior positions with institutional real estate companies as well as small, entrepreneurial investment shops. During his career, he has been involved in the development, acquisition, management, leasing and sale of over $2 billion worth of commercial properties in California and the West, in Texas, and the Sunbelt. He has personally built a portfolio of early childhood education school campuses in Colorado, and has sold portfolios of schools including locations in Denver, Illinois, Florida and Maryland.

As the National Director of Real Estate for SSGA, Mike’s responsibilities include acquisition and disposition of early childhood education buildings throughout the country on behalf of our clients, providing leasing services for both tenants and landlords, analyzing and executing on portfolio dispositions and acquisitions, and adding value to our client’s bottom line through effective and innovative real estate strategies.

Mike received his degree from Stanford University with an emphasis on economics, organizational behavior and psychology. He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, two sons and one dog. He is a licensed real estate broker.

Reagin Curlee | Senior Broker

Reagin has over 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. She most recently served as Asset Manager and Investor Relations Manager for an Investment Advisory Group where she worked with both individual investors and corporations to strategize short-term and long-term investment goals. She has a wide breadth of knowledge in commercial real estate and has worked as Marketing Director/Asset Manager for real estate fund working with horizontal developers and on master planned large scale mixed used developments. Her background encompasses both private and government experience in all areas of finance and development.

Reagin lives in Greenville, South Carolina with her daughter, and earned an Accounting degree from the College of Charleston. She holds a real estate license in South Carolina.

Alec Ligon, Esq. | Associate Broker & Licensed New Jersey Attorney

Alec has joined our team as a Transaction Manager and Associate Broker for the northeast region.  Alec is a licensed attorney coming to SSGA after practicing as an Assistant Prosecutor in Hudson County, New Jersey. Prior to that, Alec was a Law Clerk to the Honorable Marilyn C. Clark with Passaic County Superior Court and a Legal Intern with The Law Office of Ronald J. Shook preparing visa and deferred action immigration filings for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Alec is our New Jersey-based SSGA team member with a focus on the Northeast, while still working with childcare clients across the country.  Alec is a graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor of Science in History and then went on to receive his Doctor of Law (JD) with the Charlotte School of Law and was also able to complete a study abroad program in Madrid, Spain with The College of William and Mary – Marshall Wythe Law School.

Alec lives in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey with his wife Kate, a real estate attorney.


Henry Tiberi | Senior Broker

Henry brings to SSGA over 30 years of experience including public accounting, corporate real estate, business acquisitions and dispositions, and the start-up of his own business.  After receiving an M.B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with concentrations in Accounting and Finance, Henry started his career as a CPA with Ernst & Young.  Henry went on to roles in corporate real estate and business development including ten years in senior management leading corporate business acquisition programs where he was responsible for valuing businesses, negotiating terms, and closing deals.  Corporate experience includes ARAMARK Education (Children’s World and KinderCare) Alta Collages, and Mosaica Education.  From 2014 to 2017, Henry facilitated business sales as a business intermediary at Front Range Business, Inc.,  Henry’s current role is  Senior Broker for child care and education business sales, mergers & acquisitions with SSGA. Additionally, Henry manages a real estate development and investment company.  He has been an active member of the City of Golden’s civic community, serving on several boards including the Urban Renewal Authority, the Economic Development Commission and most recently the City’s Blue Ribbon Economic Development Panel.  Henry lives in Golden, Colorado.


Carrie Pergerson | Business & Transactions Manager

Carrie has over 22 years of professional experience with 18 of those in the employee benefit industry as a benefits broker and Vice-President of Benefit Concepts, Inc., located in Charleston, SC. Carrie worked with employer groups of all sizes, managing their employee benefits with new sales, and with yearly strategic planning for their renewals.

Carrie manages SSGA’s client and transaction management, processes improvement, business development, webinars, conferences, and collaborates on marketing and events.  Carrie’s role with SSGA allows her to utilize her organizational and relationship building skills, while also incorporating her creative side with Marketing.

A College of Charleston graduate with a degree in Corporate Communications, Carrie resides in Greenville, SC with her husband Kevin, their three children, Golden Retriever Sunny, and rescue bunny. Carrie is very involved with the James F. Byrnes Foundation as Secretary and a Board of Director, and creator/facilitator of the Maude’s Angels Network, as well as a volunteer with her youngest daughter at local wildlife rescue and rehab animal sanctuary, Izzie’s Pond.


Jaclyn Lintern | Marketing & Events Manager

Jaclyn infuses SSGA with creativity as our Marketing & Events Manager.  Jaclyn has been living abroad since completing her MBA at Richmond, The American International University in London with the focus of her MBA on Digital Marketing.  Jaclyn then worked as a Sales and Marketing Intern with Nadeballa, Ltd. in London developing new marketing strategies and conducting research on UK markets and distribution channels to expand the reach of the company’s cosmetic goods.

Jaclyn manages SSGA’s marketing and events, which now include one-day workshops planned in various U.S. cities, and SSGA’s upcoming first multi-day conference in San Diego, CA in February of 2018.  Jaclyn also handles SSGA’s social media marketing and print advertising, as well as all things creative!

A graduate of Lander University with a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Marketing Management, Jaclyn currently resides in New Zealand with her husband George, where they love spending time outdoors exploring New Zealand’s beautiful landscapes.
