SSGA has grown by another team member…meet Mechele Rodgers! Mechele Cropped

We are proud to announce that Mechele has joined our team as an Associate Broker and adds a wealth of experience to our coffers as a multi-school childcare owner and with her background in commercial real estate sales. We at SSGA feel that our strengths lie within the varied and extensive backgrounds of our team members from accounting, COO of an educational organization, commercial real estate sales, land development, banking, employee benefits and insurance, asset management and more.

Mechele lives in Memphis, TN, but grew up in the Northeast and received a degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island.  She worked in corporate sales for over ten years in the IT industry including working for IBM.  In 1996 following the birth of her son, she left corporate sales and obtained her real estate license in Rhode Island, while at the same time opening a licensed in-home preschool.  When her family relocated to Memphis, TN four years later, she taught at a local school and then one year later opened Cordova Christian Academy that she grew to 500 students and sold 12 years later to a national buyer.  In 2012 she opened a second school, Cornerstone Learning Center, which quickly grew to full capacity with a waiting list.

In the midst of opening and running two schools, Mechele obtained her real estate license in TN in 2004 and worked in residential sales for 11 years while also being a multi-school owner/operator.  She transitioned from residential to commercial real estate sales in 2015 and has continued to work in commercial sales while still owning/operating Cornerstone Learning Center.

With all that Mechele has juggled professionally, her personal joys include being married for 24 years to her husband Billy and raising three very unique and talented sons.  Their family also includes a very spoiled English bulldog puppy named Sir Winston Biggs.

We are thrilled to have Mechele as a part of our team and love her vibrant spirit, enthusiasm and energy.  Help us welcome Mechele and if you’re lucky, you might just hear her New England accent break through and possibly even a “that’s wicked!” exclamation or two!
